That is usually enough for us to tell you the likely range, whether the subfloor is going to be an issue, and how many days the job will take. If you already have a quote from somebody else and want a second opinion on whether the scope is complete, that conversation is welcome too and it costs nothing.
If the job needs to be seen, we will schedule a free in-home measurement anywhere in our service area, usually within two business days. Bring your questions to that visit rather than saving them, because the installer who measures is the one who will run the job.

The phone conversation
Someone who installs floors picks up, not a receptionist reading from a script. You describe the space and we tell you honestly whether it is a simple job, a prep-heavy job, or something we would steer you away from entirely.

The free measurement
We come out, measure every room, pull a corner of the existing floor, and check the substrate for moisture and flatness. It takes under an hour and there is no charge and no obligation, including in Pacifica and Half Moon Bay.

The itemized estimate
You get a written estimate breaking out demolition, subfloor prep, material, installation, stairs, trim, and haul-away as separate lines. The subfloor number is on it before you agree to anything, which is the whole point of doing it in this order.
